On Tuesday night, Universal Studios released the first official trailer for The Minions. Those unmanageable, bespectacled yellow sidekicks who stole everyone’s heart and tickled our funny bones in the Despicable Me franchise are finally getting their own flick.
The film will introduce new characters and reprise other fan favourites from the Despicable Me movies. But the main focus will be on the shenanigans the loveable yellow guys engage in as they interact with humans.
The nearly three-minute long trailer opens with the minions emerging from the primordial ooze to begin their quest to find and “serve the most despicable master around.” But, thanks to their bumbling ways, they cause the death of the dinosaurs, Dracula and Napoleon. The three lead minions – Kevin, Stuart and Bob, then lead the rest on a journey to New York, circa 1968.
The movie has been written by Brian Lynch and directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. It will feature the voices of well know actors from the Hollywood – Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney and Steve Coogan.
So, be ready to have an extra dose of laugh with these adorable Minions on the big screen near you in July 2015.
