Tools provider The Foundry has released a non-commercial edition of its VFX software Nuke, enabling artists to explore the technology for free.
Nuke Non-commercial is a free, non-watermarked version of all Nuke products, including Nuke Studio and NukeX, although there will be “some light functional restrictions” according to the firm.
Nuke is most commonly used for movies and television productions, including the Oscar-winning Gravity, but it has also been used with virtual and augmented reality content.
The Foundary has been committed in investing in the future of VFX and the talented artists who continue to astound the world with the content and experiences they create, thus by opening the whole Nuke range to the widest audience, people interested in personal learning and projects, experimentation or research can use the same solutions used by some of the most talented VFX artists around the globe.
Nuke Non-commercial will be available at The Foundry’s website.
