TVAGA (Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association) is partnering with the state government to establish Telangana Skill University – School of Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC).
The establishment of the university was part of the proposal made to the Telangana state government, to boost various industries including the AVGC sector and empower the youth with adequate skill sets. The state’s minister for IT, E&C, industry & commerce and legislative affairs D. Sridhar Babu had also mentioned the university during one of the state assembly sessions.
“Elated to announce that TVAGA is the proud partner for the Telangana Skill University – School of Animation, Visual effects, gaming, and comics. Honourable Minister, Mr. D Sridhar Babu garu, introduced Telangana Skill University, an ambitious project to address the skill gap and empower the Telangana workforce with world-class skilling and technology partners,” TVAGA COO Shaik Khaja Vali shared in a social media post.
He said that this partnership was a significant step towards positioning Telangana’s AVGC ecosystem on the global M&E map, and expressed his gratitude to all the members and supporters of the state’s AVGC community, for strengthening Telangana’s industry representation.
“I am glad to be a part of TVAGA and the initiative of Telangana Skill University, taken by the Honourable Minister, Mr. D. Sridhar Babu Garu. Looking forward to contributing more to the field of animation and making a positive impact on the future generation,” TVAGA president Rajiv Chilaka said.
Telangana was the first state to have a dedicated AVGC Policy called the IMAGE Policy (2016). The state government’s second ICT policy (2021) asserts that the target of doubling the quantum of IT exports in five years in its ICT policy 2016-21 has been successfully achieved. It is one of the first states that adopted technologies in newer spheres of the public interface and is presently recognised as a pioneer in various domains of technology like AI, ML, blockchain, data analytics, cybersecurity, IMAGE (Innovation in Multimedia Animation Gaming and Entertainment), drones and more.
