#HaveYouSeenHer? If you still haven’t then it’s high time that you dive deep into the blue waters and ride on the quest to find her. She is always lost in her own self as she has a forgetful memory but now she wants to find her family and reunite with them. Well, finding her family who she vaguely remembers is surely going to be a tough call but in this quest probably she will end up at least find her own self!
Well, a bit of confusion created as you may be wondering who is this ‘She’ and what is this whole finding drama about! Probably, that’s what Finding Dory’s new trailer launched by the Ellen Show aims to portray. Disney Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Finding Dory conveys the confusion of the protagonist amnesiac character ‘Dory’ straight to the audience. In short, Pixar wants to engulf the audience in such a way that they feel what the character feels be it confusion or joy and swim along with the character on her escapade.
The trailer begins with the three central characters Nemo, his Dad and Dory of the 2003 film Finding Nemo swimming along with a bunch of Stingrays and learning the lessons of migration. Following her instinct, Dory recollects her family and sets out to find them. Customarily, you are bound to meet people and barge into old friends when you are trying to pursue your past, and Dory encounters her old pals too like her childhood whale shark friend.
Hurdles, problems and difficulties keep us hooked on in life. Just like in the 2003 film, where humans were a threat to the water life, this trailer too shows the intruding hands of humans which harm the peace of the sea creatures. But, where will Dory land and what will humans to do her is still not revealed. Apart from that, the film introduces new characters like an octopus, whale shark and beluga whale.
Directed by Andrew Stanton along with Angus MacLane, this film has tweaked the franchise plot a bit as it is not only about finding ‘Dory‘ but Dory finding her family and finding her inner personality in this mysterious adventure. As far as animation is concerned, Pixar has maintained the underwater feel throughout as the trailer begins and ends with the deep blue floating sea. The reactions, expressions and character creation have also been worked on, and the whole trailer is quite colourful following the pattern of the franchise. Though the trailer seems all blue, then too it has a lot of strong colours throughout.
Using storytelling and striking the emotional chord as its vital skill, Pixar aims to touch the audience through this film just like it did way back in 2003. So, ‘Never Give Up, Never Forget and Just Keep Swimming’ till the film hits theatres on 17 June, 2016.
