The big boss at WD India – Subroto Das – has called it quits, and is currently serving his notice period at the organization. With over 24 years of business incubation, enterprise & SMB sales, product marketing, distribution management (including Retail and E-Commerce) and country management experience in the IT industry, based out of India and Australia, Subroto was a valued asset for WD.
Under his purview he was in-charge of leading the India and South Asia team for components (internal drives), branded (external drives) and SMB (cloud solutions) businesses. He was also responsible for delivering the region’s revenue, increasing growth & market share numbers, which he successfully managed and grew the components and branded business on a year-on-year basis.
According to company sources, Khwaja Saifuddin would be stepping in as the interim director to look over the India business till someone can fill the vacant position. Saifuddin currently looks after sales for the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and South Asia.
Prior to working at WD, Das has had longish stints in Wipro, Cisco, HP (where he served the longest for 12 years), EMC and IBM.
