Studio 100 Media and me4 have entered into a partnership deal with Viacom18 Media for CGI-animated preschool series Wissper in India. Nick Jr. India has secured all rights for TV, digital and home entertainment and for licensing and merchandising for its subcontinent including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Viacom18 Consumer Products’ new licensing program will be out on shelves in India later this year, following an extensive toy-line with Simba Toys launching merchandise this fall.
“Our partnership with Viacom18 will be introducing Wissper to kids and families in India, which is a key territory within our international broadcasting and licensing strategy. We are very excited about the commercial perspectives this huge market has to offer,” said Studio 100 Media|m4e international commercial director Peter Kleinschmidt.
Produced by m4e AG and London-based animation studio Cuckoo, in association with Ireland’s Telegael, India’s Discreet Art Productions and Bastei Media, Wissper follows the titular character, a little girl who has a special talent wherein she can communicate with animals, allowing her to understand their problems and help solve them.
Wissper’s season two comprising of 52 episodes, seven-minute each is currently in production and episodes one to 26 will be available this fall.
