The fighting game franchise that went on to be adapted in comics, manga, movies, Street Fighter, will now see yet another comic by Udon. As we anticipate Street Fighter 5, the series by Udon is one of the most likely places we can go for hints about the upcoming game’s story.
Udon Entertainment has given out new information about the next installment in the ongoing series. Along with a synopsis for the issue, which retailers can pre-order now before it drops in February, the announcement also reveals the issue’s variant covers. Street Fighter Unlimited #3 has four different cover variants, one of which pays homage to the widely popular Walking Dead graphic novel and television series.
Writer Ken Siu-Chong and artist Joe Ng bring in a vicious new chapter of the ongoing story line, while guest writer Adam Warren (Empowered) teamed up with artist Omar Dogan (Street Fighter Legends) for a fun-filled bonus story.
The plot revolves around Guile, Cammy and Alex who travel to Spain to confront the claw-wielding Vega and his deadly new allies. Plus, it’s a school girl throw down in a bonus story pitting wealthy warrior Karin against nimble ninja Ibuki!
This issue’s standard covers include story cover by Gonzalo “Genzoman” Ordonez Arias, Ultra Jam variant which continues the 12-part connecting image drawn by Jeffrey “Chamba” Cruz. As for retail incentive covers, they are done by Joe Vriens’ whose variant cover pays homage to Image’s long-running zombie series by referencing the trade dress for the series’ collections and the other variant by Steven “Kandoken” Mack focuses on Cammy.
Street Fighter Unlimited #3 arrives in February 2016.
