With a plethora of games joining the VR bandwagon, it seems that the future of gaming will be an absolutely immersive one. After Oculus Rift and HTC Vibe, Sony has finally revealed the dates for the release of their much anticipated PlayStation VR (previously known as Project Morpheus) at E3. The device will come set with around 50 VR compatible games.
Carrying the trend forward in a different way, two games have been announced from franchisees which have immense fan followings.
Firstly, Ubisoft announced that they will be churning out VR based game this fall named Star Trek: Bridge Crew. The name is self explanatory. In this game, players can immerse themselves in exhilarating space adventures. The game, which can be run on co-op mode, will put the player and his party right into the bridge of a Starship named U.S.S. Aegis. Every decision from the group will decide the fate and functioning of the ship. Developed by Red Storm Entertainment, the game bestows players with absolutely detailed experiences like real time lip sync for the characters.
A group of four can be gathered as the crew of the ship with each taking up a position varying from, Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineer. Each one of them has an important part to play and in the single player mode, you will be the captain and other roles will be filled by AI team mates, who will abide by your orders.
Then there was a tease during the EA conference at E3 that brought cheers to the fans for Star Wars. PlayStaytion VR is getting a Star Wars VR game named Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission.
