‘Star Wars’ makes its way into Disney theme parks

Star wars parkAt the recent Disney’s D-23 Expo event which was held at the Anaheim Convention Center, California a delight was awaiting for all Star Wars fanboys. And it’s not about director of the Star Wars: Episode IX or the cast of Rogue One that we are talking about here but a kick-ass Star Wars World that is coming to Disneyland. Disneyland which is the famous attraction site for both kids and adults alike will soon witness the themed “Star Wars” land at the Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California.

At the event, the Disney CEO and chairman Bob Iger addressed the crowd saying, “When we bought Lucasfilm three years ago, we were excited about making new Star Wars films, obviously, but we were also excited about bringing the characters to every corner of the company.”

“We’re creating a jaw dropping new world that represents our largest single theme land expansion ever,” Iger said of the new parks. “Nothing in the land will be out of character or stray from the mythology,” of the Star Wars legend, he said, priming Star Wars films scholars to expect creatures from various parts of the series, as well as new beings who have yet to be seen from The Force Awakens.

Pitched as the largest expansion ever at the company’s two American properties, about 14 acres of land has been allotted to create this distinct Star Wars landscape which includes Star War rides as well, that’s going to be something now.

Disney also released concept art of the new lands, which promise to immerse fans in a never-before-seen locale. One of the signature and exciting attraction that the Disney is planning is giving the visitors controls of Han Solo’s starship Freighter, the Millennium Falcon. Guests will fly in the Falcon which will take them into the middle of an aerial battle between the First Order and the Resistance – the new film’s version of the Empire and the Rebellion.

In the meantime, existing attractions at the US parks will receive an upgradation wherein the Space Mountain, one of the old favourites at the parks in both locations, will be renamed Hyper Space Mountain, with new gimmicks and effects inspired by the Star Wars film franchise.

It’s about time for the young generation who are not well versed with the Star Wars movies to gear up and start watching this epic movie to thoroughly enjoy this upcoming theme park.
