Star Movies India is treating all Avengers fans to a binge frenzy today between 1:00 pm and 9:00 pm, just as the mighty superheroes reassemble at US screens today for the second instalment in the franchise Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Indian fans were lucky enough to get the release a week prior to the US market and the film has been raking in some great numbers at the international box-office as well; grossing $9.5 million in 11 markets on its opening day.
Tapping into the Avengers frenzy, the team at Star Movies is showcasing a total of three Hollywood blockbusters from the Avengers tentpole today under the block #Trending.
The stellar line-up includes: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Incredible Hulk and Thor 2: The Dark World, which will again be followed by a re-run of The Winter Soldier.
Star Movies had earlier in March showcased a host of Marvel superheroes, calling it the Marvel Movie Festival that ran between 16 March and 22 March on the flagship English movie channel of Star India.
“We all need somebody to look up to, somebody to guide us and make us believe that there is strength hidden in all of us. At Star Movies we understand this feeling and want to inspire our viewers with a Marvel Festival showcasing some of the best superhero films Hollywood has produced. So, it’s time to live a larger than life, action packed week with Star Movies,” said a Star India spokesperson.
Avengers: Age of Ultron has run into some trouble in the German market, with many theatre owners boycotting the release because of hiked rentals on ticket prices demanded by Disney Studios.
