A comic industry legend who has bestowed the comic fans with superheroes like Spider-Man, the Hulk, The X-Men and many others, Stan Lee is set to once again introduce a new comic book character. As reported by Vareity, Lee unveiled the new comic book characters ‘Nitron’ on the eve of the San Diego Comic Con.
Just like his early works that have been now adopted across entertainment platforms, this new character franchise is aimed feature films, TV and digital platforms. The demi-god of the comic industry, Lee is partnering with Keya Morgan and Michael Benaroya on “Nitron,” which revolves around a highly intelligent and advanced species of Nitronians who covertly live on modern day Earth.
“It’s a pleasure to partner with Michael Benaroya and Keya Morgan on Nitron,” said Lee. “I am excited for everyone to explore the amazing world of Nitron with us.”
The new franchise will serve as the source material for film, TV and digital adaptations produced by Benaroya Pictures. Benaroya Pictures has secured an initial $50 million fund to finance the development and production with Benaroya as an anchor investor.
The comic book will be rolled out in January as as a six volume series which will be published by Benaroya Publishing. Benaroya (Margin Call, Lawless) Lee and Morgan (who’s currently producing and directing the documentary film Marilyn Monroe: Murder on Fifth Helena Drive) are writing the content and will be producers for the same.
