Stan Lee, Grant Morrison and Deepak Chopra partner with Graphic India for a philanthropic to create digital comics to raise money for charity

Avatarex_CVR_revised_SDComic legends Stan Lee, Grant Morrison and author and wellness-guru Deepak Chopra are working with Graphic India to bring digital comic book exclusives to raise money for charities Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontičres (MSF) and Worldreader. This includes the worldwide exclusive release of the just announced Grant Morrison’s Avatarex Chapter 1.

Avatarex, published by Graphic India, will be Morrison’s first digital comic and will feature a new 6-page chapter digitally every two weeks, with the first chapter only on Humble Bundle. In Avatarex, the epic world of living myth collides with the mundane realities and cultural upheavals of contemporary India.

“At a time when I feel I’ve said about as much as I have to say about the American superhero, this is an opportunity to re-imagine the entire concept through a different cultural lens,” said Grant Morrison. “Avatarex is the first digital only comic I’ve written and I’m excited by the opportunity to create for a more accessible global platform.

Spider-Man, Iron-Man and The Avengers co-creator, Stan Lee, will join the promotion with Chakra The Invincible, featuring Lee’s first Indian superhero creation, will see its exclusive digital E-book release in this bundle. Based on the animated series, which received over 30 million views worldwide on Angry BirdsToonsTV, and launched on Cartoon Network India.

Acclaimed NYT best-selling author, Deepak Chopra will also be participating with his e-book comic series, Buddha: A Tale of Enlightenment.

In addition to the above titles, the Humble Bundle campaign will feature other leading Graphic India e-books including Ramayan 3392AD, Myths of IndiaThe Mighty Yeti, Grant Morrison’s 18 Days, and others normally valued at over US$200 but available for only $15 as part of this charity raising event.
