Brazillian animator, and director Carlos Saldanha (Rio, Ferdinand, Ice Age) is set to bring Crockett Johnson’s classic children’s book, Harold and the Purple Crayon (1955) to life in the live-action film of the same name.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the second trailer of the film:
Inside of his book, Harold can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life—and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own.
Harold and the Purple Crayon is the first film adaptation of the children’s classic. Directed by Saldanha, the film features Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds with Zachary Levi, Alfred Molina and Zooey Deschanel.
Studios that have worked on the film’s visual effects include Day For Nite, Clear Angle Studios, Folks VFX, Mammal Studios, OPSIS, Rising Sun Pictures, and Spin VFX.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will release the film in Indian cinemas on 2 August 2024.
