HelpsGood, a digital agency focused on social good, has announced that it released a new original Smokey Bear storybook app, Smokey Bear and the Campfire Kids, the first ever digital book featuring Smokey Bear. Launching in support of Fire Prevention Week (5-11 October), Smokey Bear and the Campfire Kids is the first to be released in a planned four-book series featuring Smokey Bear and his enduring “Only You Can Prevent Wildfires” prevention message.
In celebration of Fire Prevention Week, Smokey Bear and the Campfire Kids is on sale for a limited timed for only $0.99. A portion of all proceeds goes back into the Smokey Bear education campaign.
In the story, a family is on an outdoor camping trip, hiking through a lush forest when one of the children tries to light a campfire by himself.
The original book features a picture book with Smokey’s wildfire prevention message in picture book format with text for early readers. With an impactful story filled with fire safety tips for parents to share with their children and school teachers to use with their students for wildfire prevention education. And a full-colour, vibrant illustrations with a classic art style and animation by Emmy winning studio, Animax Entertainment, with read along narration by Smokey.
Smokey turned 70 in 2014, making him the longest-running public service advertising campaign in American history. He was also just inducted into the Advertising Week Walk of Fame.
The Smokey Bear Storybook is developed by HelpsGood, winner of the 2014 Gold Smokey Bear Award, and an Official Smokey Bear Licensee. The storybook is being released just in time for October’s official Fire Prevention Week, which is recognized this year on 5 October through 11 October.
