Six things to watch out for in the new ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ trailer

The final trailer of X-Men: Apocalypse hit the internet recently and since then the fans are going crazy, speculating about all the theories that one might see in the last of the movies of the trilogy that consists of First Class and Days of the Future Past.

Here are six things that caught our fancy and made the X-Men trailer:

1. Professor X needs to worry about Apocalypse

The trailer starts with a sign that says Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters and he is seen teaching a class where he speaks about how the world is now a better place and everything around is better.

He is cut short by Mystique who says that a better world does not mean the world is at peace and warns Charles Xavier that ‘he’ is coming.

Moira MacTaggert in the earlier trailer too was seen warning Professor X and she and Mystique know something about the impending attack and how Apocalypse and his four horsemen who could spew doom for the world.

2. Who is Apocalypse?

The trailer also gives first glimpse of Oscar Isaac in the human form. The pyramid from ancient Egypt with apocalyptic signs and Oscar is seen lying still on a table letting a blue aura spread to his body making him the Apocalypse that he is today. Maybe, a backstory is in the offing about the Apocalypse and how he became what he is today.

3. Magneto and Apocalypse team up

Professor X and Magneto once friends now don’t look eye to eye but Xavier still has friendship left for Magneto. So, when Magneto decides to join the Apocalypse’s horsemen Xavier urges him not to make that mistake but Magneto retaliates that he has buried that man with his family with a passing image of his dying wife Magda in his arms.

4. Mystique leading from the front

Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) has had a good screen time since her last outing in Days of the Future Past and in this movie too she is seen leading a pack of young X-Men to fight ‘the god’ Apocalypse.

She tells them that they no longer are students but part of X-Men and need not be afraid to show off their powers. She is also the one who rescues Nightcrawler from an underground mutant fight club brawl and invites him to join them in the war against the Apocalypse army. (In comics, Nightcrawler is the son of Mystique. Whether we will get to witness this in the movie is still a mystery)

5. Young X-Men come to fore

A lot of new actors have been cast for this movie and the new additions have an important part to play in the battle between the mutants and the god. With the likes Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops the franchise has a breath of fresh air to it. And a few action sequences that have been released tell that the movie will not only be mind-boggling but will also be visually appealing; one of the example of that is the duel between Storm and Cyclops.

6. A potential Wolverine tease

As the trailer nears the end one sees a glimpse of familiar adamantium claws holding out, teasing a potential wolverine cameo or a full fledged role. This came as a surprise to everyone especially since Wolverine’s third solo outing was the last of Hugh Jackman playing the legendary mutant and the tease will only lead to more speculation whether Jackman will once more reprise the mutant or has Singer found a new Wolverine.

This is the final trailer before the movie hits theatres on 27 May 2016 which is a month away. The production house has maintained an air of mystery about the movie with little promotion during the times when superhero movies have had in your face promotion two to three months in advance. Will keeping a low profile and building a curiosity among the fans help X-Men, we will only come to know on 27 May.
