Shah Rukh Khan’s next venture Fan is creating a lot of buzz. The latest news about the film is that King Khan will not only be seen playing a megastar but also a 17-year-old ‘fan’.
Shah Rukh spoke to the media about this role on the sets of India Poochega – Sabse Shaana Kaun. “The film (Fan) is very different. I will be seen playing a 17-year-old and I’ll take some help to do it. Perhaps with prosthetics, make-up or VFX.”
The actor was recently also gifted a life size 3D printed model by Autodesk India along with Harry Hingorani and Keitan Yadav. In an earlier interaction with AnimationXpress, the Redchillies.VFX team had mentioned that they would use similar techniques and more to recreate a younger SRK as well.
The actor is paired opposite 35-year-old fomer super model Waluscha De Sousa in this film. SRK, who has romanced actresses half his age on screen, spoke about the casting. “Yes, Waluscha is in the film. More than age-appropriate heroines, its normally character-appropriate casting. What you actually have to understand is mostly for films that are not driven by commercial aspect, they are character-appropriate casting.”
The release of ‘Fan’ which was scheduled for 15 August, Independence Day, has been postponed. Yash Raj Films has attributed the delay to ‘never before seen VFX’.
Fan is written by Habib Faisal, best known for directing Ishaqzaade and Daawat-e-Ishq, fame and directed by Maneesh Sharma of Shuddh Desi Romance fame.
