Earlier in December 2015, it was learnt that hit TV series which revolved around the epic story of the classic cult Samurai Jack will be coming back on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016. And now, at the Annecy Festival D’Animation the first promo art from Genndy Tartakovsky’s new Samurai Jack revival was revealed.

Samurai Jack had made its way on the small screen back in 2001 on Cartoon Network and now after a decade long break it’s set to once again enthrall the audience but this time on a different channel. After airing 52 episodes, Samurai jack managed to get a die hard fan following who have been asking for the series to return on air. With its story, creative artwork and 2D animation, the series managed to woo the audience and gain a strong fan base thanks to its creator Genndy Tartokovsky who is also the creator of exemplary works like Hotel Transylvania, Dexter’s Laboratory, Star Wars: Clone Wars.

From the look of the promo art, Jack looks more fierceful and intense. Seems like the series will be following the 2D animation and as opposed to what we saw in the previous series where Jack used to usually fight robots, over here we see blood on his body. So we can expect quite a bit of gore and blood in the new series.

We will have to wait and watch as how Samurai Jack plans to win over our hearts this time.
