Nintendo Switch is porting Saints Row: The Third, announced publisher Deep Silver on twitter. The tweet says “more info to be revealed in due course,” with a Gamescom hastag. Gamescom is the largest gaming event Europe offers, which began on Tuesday in Cologne, Germany.
Saints Row began as a Grand Theft Auto (GTA) copy, but the series began pulling an audience when it settled down, exaggerating aspects of the gangs in the city to create an urban metropolitan mayhem.
Fans found it strange that Silver would decide against porting the more recent installments to the series, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Saints Row 4.
Initially released in 2011 for PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Windows PC, Saints Row: The Third is considered a fan favourite from the franchise. It’ll mark the first time that a GTA style game will be on Nintendo’s platform, but fans will have to wait as the release date is not yet confirmed.
