Back in 2009, it was quite certain that the cult horror comic Hack/Slash will be seen on the big screens and was going to to directed by Marcus Nispel but nothing ever materialized and the film got scraped. But thanks to Relativity Television, fans will now get to see the comic make its debut on the small screens.
Relativity Television will be developing the series and the screenwriter who has been roped in for the same is none other than X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s writer Skip Woods. He will also be serving as an Executive Producer along with Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord whereas Daniel Alter and Geoffrey Yim will serve as Co-Executive Producers.
Created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, Hack/Slash comics series was earlier published by Devil’s Due Publishing and now by Image Comics. These one shot comics revolves around Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. But Hack/Slash has put a new twist in this cliched concept. This emotionally damaged girl not only survives but uses her experience to hunt down the serial killers who kill the innocent. Vlad becomes her accomplice and together they travel the country and to take down the classic Hollywood slashers like Michael Myers, Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger. She also hunts down pop culture icon characters like Chucky, The Wizard of Oz and The Suicide Girls.
The producers of the show are in search for directors with the goal to make it a dark and gritty show in The Walking Dead mold.
