What can one say when you have spent 13+ years of your professional life serving an industry which is yet in its nascent stages in the country… well this one man who has been one of the key players in helping set-up the NASSCOM Gaming Forum alongside industry stalwarts like Rajesh Rao, is none other than former vice president Rajiv Vaishnav.
Recently in an emotional interview with AnimationXpress.com, Rajiv revealed that there comes a time in every man’s life when he has to take the decision to move on… and he believed this was his time.
He posted on his Facebook wall: “Today when I finally sign off from NASSCOM after 13+ years, I have truly mixed feelings. Looking back, I have countless memories of some amazing interactions with the IT/BPM industry leaders, mentors, teachers, officers, friends and of my team at NASSCOM. I have lived every single moment here. Thank you from my heart to one and all as I begin a new chapter in my life. I will cherish your love, trust, confidence and support.
I could imbibe some important lessons of meritocracy, collaboration, selfless service and India First attitude. I will be ever indebted to NASSCOM for this. I am sure my roads will cross again and am looking forward to my continued interaction with my alma mater. .”
Having been a thought leader ever since he commenced his journey with NASSCOM, Rajiv has been one of the few staunch believers that the gaming industry will soon see a boom and it was needed to sow the seeds early to reap the fruits at a later stage.
He posted this on his Facebook wall today: “I am back into the Start-up ecosystem. It was 9th December 1999 when Harishbhai (Harish Mehta) gave me the baton of raising TiE in India as it’s first employee at Mumbai. There was no looking back then. The .com boom and burst happened world over and in India but the learnings, the connects and the excitement stayed with me for ever. At NASSCOM I worked closely with students, entrepreneurs and 10K start-up team to establish start-up warehouses at multiple locations in India such as Kolkata, Vizag, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and so on.
Now, life has taken a full circle, am joining Reliance’s GenNext Innovation Hub at Navi Mumbai. Looking forward to an equally exciting time and opportunity to work with you all… and like any other start-up entrepreneur, I too begin my journey with all your blessings and wishes.”
