Prime Video has released an official trailer and key art for Citadel: Diana, the Italy based chapter from the Citadel franchise.
The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Italian production company Cattleya which is part of the British multinational media company ITV Studios.
Citadel: Diana stars Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing) as the central character and also features an international cast, including Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Giordana Faggiano, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz and Filippo Nigro. All six episodes of the new spy series will debut exclusively on Prime Video globally on 10 October.
The series is directed by Arnaldo Catinari (Subarra: Blood on Rome, Vita da Carlo, Mia madre) and developed by Alessandro Fabbri (The Invisible Boy, The Trial, The Double Hour), who is also the head writer, and wrote the series with Ilaria Bernardini, Gianluca Bernardini, Laura Colella and Giordana Mari. The series is executive produced by AGBO’s Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame), Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes, alongside David Weil (Hunters). Gina Gardini is the showrunner and executive producer, with Riccardo Tozzi, Marco Chimenz, Giovanni Stabilini and Emanuele Savoini also serving as executive producers.
The series has been developed with support from the Italian Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual. Midnight Radio is also an executive producer.
The Citadel franchise debuted on Prime Video in April 2023 with a six-episode first season starring Richard Madden (Game of Thrones, Eternals) and Priyanka Chopra (Baywatch, The Sky is Pink) as the show’s lead spies. The franchise also released a teaser for its Indian inspired chapter Citadel: Honey Bunny back in August 2023.
