BENGALURU: Prime Focus Technologies (PFT), the technology arm of Prime Focus, announced its plans to expand operations in Bengaluru. PFT is now set to open a new facility at RMZ Ecospace that can seat an additional 500 people. PFT has 500 employees at its existing Bengaluru facilities, and is the global R&D and software development hub for the company.
PFT says that it will leverage the market opportunity to monetise its marquee customer base with clients such as Warner Bros. Television Studios, CBS Television Studios, 20th Century Fox Television Studios, Relativity Media, Legendary Pictures, Fox Television Studios, A&E, Showtime, Starz Media and Lionsgate at the new Bengaluru facility.
“The stupendous global success of our CLEAR Media ERP suite has led to the imminent need to expand our teams focused on R&D, software development and delivery. Availability of top notch talent with proven experience across the software product development lifecycle is why we are expanding in Bengaluru”, said PFT founder and CEO Ramki Sankaranarayanan.
PFT, which established itself as a garage start up, six years ago, in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, is today a 1000 people plus global organisation, with clients and operations across Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and multiple locations in India. Its hybrid cloud enabled Clear Media ERP suite has been adopted by the world’s biggest broadcasters, studios, brands and digital businesses to run their content operations.
“The M&E industry offers interesting possibilities for die-hard software professionals. Studies have confirmed that by deploying Media ERP, broadcast operations and engineering costs as a percentage of revenue can be lowered by approximately five per cent. In a study we commissioned with Ernst & Young, our total addressable market was pegged USD 12.9 billion by 2018. That is a lot of demand to fulfill, and possible only with innovation and world class R&D”, said PFT co-founder and COO Ganesh Sankaran.
