Earlier this year, during the Super Bowl 50, Pokemon released something that the fans termed as “the best Super Bowl commercial” as Pokemon celebrated its 20 year anniversary. Pokemon was released back in 1996 and has been a part of every fan’s life with games, toys, comics or animated series, as everyone wanted to “catch’em all”. With their feature in Super Bowl, the company had also revealed the trailer of their new and upcoming edition of Pokemon, titled Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Now, after much speculation, the company has finally revealed the details about their upcoming edition. The two legendary Pokemons have been revealed namely, Solgaleo – a psychic and steel type who has ability called ‘Full Metal Body’ and Lunala- a psychic and ghost type with an ability called ‘Shadow Field’. While Solgaleo has Sunsteel Strike, Lunala has Moongeist Beam as its offence abilities, which nullifies the abilities of the Pokemon they hit.
The new world is set in Alola region, a set of tropical islands. It also features the Pokemon Rotom – an electric type which can attach itself to electrical appliances and in this version, it will be mingled with the Pokedex and will help the player with directions and much more.
The head professor would be, Professor Kukui, with Lillie, “Kukui’s mysterious assistant” (who is also likely to play a major role in the story) and Hau, your “new friend in Alola”. The Pokemon website also initiates a new feature; a QR code scanner will be provided which will let players register unseen Pokemons and direction from their Pokedex for their location. The players would also be able to share QR codes.
The game looks pretty neat, with three starter Pokemons as usual and a huge area to explore where a plethora of rare Pokemons have been promised. So if you are a Pokemon fan, you should be excited.
Pokemon Sun and Moon is scheduled to release over Nintendo 3DS on 18 November in the USA.
