Providing animated content for toddlers, kids, teens and curious grown-ups, Appu Series is a major player in the digital space. With over 8 lakh subscribers, the YouTube channel APPUSERIES which was launched in April 2010 has surpassed a journey of grabbing attention worldwide to provide quality, informative and entertaining content. The journey has taken a leap as Appu Series has now ventured into the television space for the first time.
Appu Series hit the TV space from 5 September with its animated show Appu The Yogic Elephant which will continue to broadcast on POGO Monday to Friday at 3:30 pm. The series will comprise of 26 episodes of 11 minutes each. The series features Appu, a calf from a special tribe of elephants known to have yogic powers. Barely a few years old, he is already stronger than most grownups from his herd. His powers shine through the three dots on his forehead. Appu makes friends with Neena and her pet dog, Tiger. From there on starts a tale of adventure, friendship and courage.
Around eight seasons of the series have been produced which denote a blend of information and entertainment as Appu and his friends traverse through various adventures. The episodes being aired are in 3D and are created using Maya with a team of 60 artists working on it for the past 18 months.
Media Fusion, director, Sanjay Raheja said, “Prime time television was the only media where we did not have Appu Series content published until now. Our association with Pogo was pretty simple. We approached Turner with a proposal, and in a matter of few months we arrived at making a concrete deal.”
With over 8,000 videos on its YouTube channel, Appu Series is a major platform for learning through a fun filled way. Targeting the digital space with its addictive content, we can expect the series to perform well in the television space as well. As it is the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi, Appu hitting the TV screens seems just a perfect timing to delight the audience with his powers.
