Arena Animation, a leading animation institution of India is organising Orbit Live 2015, from the 8 to 11 January, at The Retreat, Mumbai, a platform for students to get inspired by industry stalwarts. Orbit Live is a four day talent festival where students are encouraged to let their creative juices flow and learn while making merry. More than 150 industry experts, top 100 animation studios and more than 300 Arena students are expected to attend the event.
The participants will get the opportunity to pick the brains of international animators of great stature such as Mickael Marin, Head, MIFA (CITIA), Annecy Animation Festival, France, Eugene Kim, Programmer, PISAF Festival, South Korea, Siobhan Fenton, Animex Festival, Director of Animex International Partnerships, Teesside University, UK, Penelope Holton, Deputy Section Head (Animation and Visual Effects), Senior Lecturer 3D Animation, Teesside University, UK, Thierry Dezarmenien, Zeilt Productions, Luxembourg and has Oscar Winning Animation Short Film 2014 – “Mr. Hublot” to his credit.
Over 70 practical workshops, masterclasses and interactive sessions on the art and craft of film editing, principles of animation, digital media campaign (social media), 3D visualisation and simulation etc will be held at the venue being conducted by Indian and international industry bigwigs to enrich the experience and learning of the participants. To add to the celebration of films, the best animation films from across the world will be displayed during breakfast, in a special screening called ‘Breakfast Shorts.’ Arena students will be mentored by industry experts & practitioners at live workshops & master classes and have the golden opportunity to undergo intense interactions with industry practitioners at workshops and get a chance to work on live industry projects.
To culminate this eclectic gathering of fervour, festivity and learning, Orbit Live Awards Night & industry honours will be held on the 10 of January at the venue to felicitate the honourable guests and students with the potential for excellence.
