The World Warrior Tour begins in Japan, while Hollywood’s latest game adaptation lets fans do more than watch; they can fight their way through the trailer too.
Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have kicked off the global World Warrior Tour for Street Fighter with a high-voltage trailer launch in Tokyo and this one comes with a twist. The new trailer is not just watchable. It is playable.
The first-ever trailer launch unfolded across the towering Shinjuku Yunika vision screens, turning one of Tokyo’s busiest entertainment districts into a suitably dramatic arena for the return of the iconic fighting franchise.
The ensemble includes Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson joins as Balrog, while Jason Momoa takes on the role of Blanka.
In conjunction with the Japan premiere, Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment debuted what they describe as the first-ever playable full-length movie trailer on YouTube. Through the Street Fighter Combo Challenge, viewers can test their skills and fight their way through the trailer rather than simply sitting back and watching the punches fly.
Set in 1993, Street Fighter follows estranged fighters Ryu, played by Koji, and Ken Masters, played by Centineo, who are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li, played by Liang, recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament.
What follows is a brutal collision of fists, fate and fury. Behind the tournament lies a deadly conspiracy that forces the fighters to confront not only each other, but the ghosts and demons of their past.
Helmed by director Sakurai, the film aims to take the action from arcade cabinets to cinema screens, complete with Hadoukens, roundhouses and a roster packed with familiar faces.
Street Fighter is set to release in India on 16 October 2026 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
