New animated series Mickey and the Roadster Racers is in production for and is slated to release in 2017. A car racing adventure for preschoolers featuring Mickey Mouse along his pals: Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy and Donald.
The cartoon series will feature on Disney Junior channels and programming blocks around the world, taking the characters on high-spirited races in their uniquely personalized vehicles around the globe. The official announcement was made today by Disney Junior Worldwide EVP Original Programming and GM, Nancy Kanter.
Targeting the age group of 2-7, the series will use a combination of CG animation and live action footage to tell the stories and are designed to impart social and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Series produced by Disney Television Animation will have Emmy-nominated people who have been behind Disney Junior’s hit series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the production team for Mickey and the Roadster Racers.
