Netflix has released a new trailer for the forthcoming fifth season of its animated original series, BoJack Horseman.
The Emmy Award-nominated and critically acclaimed BoJack Horseman premiered on Netflix in August 2014 and will begin its fifth season on 14 September.
The series revolves around the titular character, BoJack (voiced by Will Arnett), a legendary but a flawed former 90’s sitcom star from the family-favourite sitcom Horsin’ Around, who has been struggling through self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships.
Together with his human sidekick Todd (Aaron Paul) and his feline agent and ex-paramour Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris), BoJack is making his comeback. The new trailer sees BoJack embarking on a new role as the lead in a new show, Philbert, but his problems appear to be the same-old. There’s also plenty of meta-commentary as Princess Caroline exclaims that the trailer is “confusing, which means the show is daring and smart!” The series also stars Alison Brie and Paul F. Tompkins.
Produced by The Tornante Company, BoJack Horseman was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The series is executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen and Noel Bright. Arnett and Paul also serve as executive producers. BoJack Horseman was designed by graphic artist Lisa Hanawalt and animated by ShadowMachine.
