Netflix has unveiled a new logo animation which will play before its originals programming. The new logo will be shown before all the originals that will premiere 1 February 2019 onward.
The animation for the new logo begins with the familiar N ribbon animation and takes the viewer through a spectrum of light. The logo explains the Netflix’s increasing interest in establishing itself as a more than just a streaming service, but also as a production studio with big ambitions.
Regarding the new look, Netflix captioned the animation with the following tweet: “SOME PERSONAL NEWS: Starting today there’s a new logo animation before our originals. It shows the spectrum of stories, languages, fans, & creators that make Netflix beautiful — now on a velvety background to better set the mood. And before you ask: no, the sound isn’t changing.”

Netflix has already begun attaching the animation to its new originals. Within the next few months, animated logo will be retroactively added to the originals already on Netflix.
Netflix upgraded its last logo back in 2014, when it replaced the white letters with a black outline on a red background to the much more streamlined version it uses today.
