Just two days after renewing animated cult BoJack Horseman, streaming behemoth Netflix has now ordered to renew fantasy drama Castlevania for a third season.
Based on the classic 1989 Japanese videogame of the same name, the adult web series probes the adventures of the last survivor of the Belmont clan, Trevor Belmont, as he fights extinction at the hands of the sinister felon Vlad Dracula Tepes and his minions of the vampire war council. He is later aided and abetted in his mission by some misfit comrades; magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s dhampir son Alucard.
Produced by Fredator Studios, Castlevania is written by Warren Ellis, directed by Sam Deats with animation services by Powerhouse Animation Studios and Shankar Animation. It premiered it’s first season in July 2017, followed by a second run in October this year.
The renewal announcement of the show was made through a small clip with lightening strikes against it’s official poster background, before cutting to a crescent moon that’s tangent to the large figure of the number three.
Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert and Kevin Kolde serve as the executive producers of the show.
