Modern military shooter World War 3 will be revamping and expanding with backing from a new publisher, says development studio The Farm 51.
The Farm 51 will partner with global publisher MY.GAMES, known for the shooter Warface, on World War 3, though The Farm 51 has emphasised many times since announcing the partnership that they will retain creative control over what goes into the game.
“We are happy to announce the partnership with MY.GAMES and benefit from their wealth of experience in publishing multiplayer shooters. Our collaboration with MY.GAMES ensures that we can take a truly global approach to publishing World War 3, while remaining faithful to our original vision for the game as we work to enhance its core gameplay, polish mechanics, and push the boundaries of the overall scale of the project, ” said The Farm 51 creative director and co-founder Kamil Bilczynski .
MY.GAMES will assist with publishing, marketing, community management, customer support, and backend infrastructure for World War 3 according to PC Gamer.
World War 3 was an early access release that is very similar to other titles like Battlefield 3 and 4. However, due to the recent woes of Dice and the Battlefield franchise, fans of large scale combat and epic battles were starved for a game that could bring them back to what they wanted. World War 3 was by no means revolutionary, but it certainly brought a lot to the table and was a solid game with all things considered. In many ways, it was much more hardcore and offered a level of detail and realism that was not going to be found in any kind of triple-a title.
