Movie screenings to enhance the visual experience at ABAI Fest 2016

Imparting information and educating the masses is not the only thing that happens at the ABAI KAVGC Summit. The ABAI fest 2016 will also witness a display of creative visuals at large. Movie screenings of some extensive animated features and shorts will add to the pool of knowledge and thought balloon of the fest.

Visuals are more effective than audio, pictures speak louder than words… And, these movie screenings will convey the message through the medium of animation with an aim to educate and entertain the audience.

The fest will witness the screening of the French animated feature, Adama which portrays the adventurous story of a West African boy who travels to Europe in search of his elder brother and experiences the horrors of the World War I. Directed by Simon Rouby and Julien Lilti and produced by Naia Productions, this film has traversed through various film festivals across Europe.

The Oscar nominated feature Boy and the World tells the story of a boy who undergoes predicament due to his father’s sudden departure and transcends into a distant mystical world. This Brazilian animated feature directed by Ale Abreu will also be screened.

Mune: Guardian of the Moon is another animated adventure fantasy film that will be showcased as it tells a tale of a small creature who must recover the Sun that was stolen by his fault.  Directed by Benoît Philippon (co written by Jérôme Fansten) and Alexandre Heboyan, the film was received well by press critics due to its aesthetics and poetic feel.

Apart from these movies, DreamWorks Animation head of International Outreach Shelley Page will showcase her ‘Eye Candy’ which includes slate of international short films and TV commercials like Castle of Sand, The Tale of the Fox and the Mouse, Wildfire and the moving short Tsunami.

The SIGGRAPH Traveling Electronic Theater will display various animated features and short films, scientific visualisation, visual effects, advertising and game excerpts from the programs of the Computer Animation Festival.

The Animation Across Borders O!PLA and Annecy festival will showcase their content too at the fest to enhance the quality of films thus displaying a wide range of animated films across various genres.

Screening of movies is a practice that ABAI fest has been following throughout, and this year too the movies showcased will aim to educate and entertain.

Therefore, along with a wide range of industry veterans from all genres who will provide insights on various topics of their expertise the ABAI Fest and KAVGC 2016 will therefore witness a range of movie screenings to educate the audience with a thrilling audio visual experience.
