The Indian Premiere League (IPL) is one of the biggest platforms ever presented for young aspiring cricketers to don the blue jersey and represent the country in a sport that is almost treated as a religion. Though it also brings families together and has the extra addition of entertainment with sportsmanship that works well to enthrall one and all.
The prime sponsor of the league – Pepsi – has been running a nationwide campaign of encouraging anyone and everyone who has ever wanted to actually create a meaningful advertisement after being frustrated with the commercials that run on TV during these matches to send in their entries, and even win a chance to get featured during the tourney.
Well, it seems Pepsi’s sister drink decided to take a shot at the opportunity and has managed to do so in its own ‘Pagalpanti’ style! In a recently released spot we see two guys enjoying an IPL match, when the Pepsi Crash the IPL campaign comes on TV and suddenly a bottle of Mirinda starts levitating in front of them to eclipse the bottle of Pepsi on screen, followed by the thought that “What if Mirinda was to make an ad in the Crash the IPL contest.
What follows is a series of graphic artworks depicting RCB’s captain Virat Kohli and Bollyood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor. The choice of the two protagonists couldn’t have been more apt with both of them being in the news for their lady loves and also their on-field and on-screen antics respectively. It has the right dose of animation and humour that will leave you in splits.
