Mattel and Hasbro, both American multinational toy manufacturing giants, seem to be in talks for a possible merger according to Bloomberg. Well, it may come as no surprise because the two companies have been discussing a merger several times in the past.
Nothing is confirmed as the details of the current talks are not revealed. The talks may not even lead to a deal as information on how a deal might be structured could not be immediately learned.
Mattel is mainly known for their Barbie dolls, Hot Wheels and WWE toys amongst its wide range of toys. Well, when it comes to Hasbro, the action figures like Transformers and G.I. Joe have baffled audience across the globe.
Hasbro has also partnered with franchises to move to the big screens. It manufactured Disney’s Frozen dolls and holds the rights to manufacture the action figures for Star Wars franchise. Mattel on the other hand has added innovation to its popular long lived Barbie dolls.
Undoubtedly, a merger between these two giants will definitely revolutionise the creation of toys and probably be the biggest move in the toy industry.
