Marvel Studios has finally dropped another official trailer for its long-awaited film Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson.
Black Widow showcases Natasha Romanoff’s struggle to face her past and deal with unfinished business in this action-packed spy thriller that will hit big screens in India on 9 July, 2021 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The official description reads : Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
The film gives an a montage perspective of Romanoff’s (Johansson) time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, going back to different films – from The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War (The events of Black Widow is set after this), Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It also gives the audience a closer look at Taskmaster (possibly Olivier Richters. Johansson returns as Romanoff, the hand to hand combat specialist aka Black Widow.
Florence Pugh stars as Yelena Belova, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. A few reports suggest that this is Johansson last film as the iconic female superhero as she is possibly going to hand over the title to Pugh.
Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, Black Widow is the first film in Phase Four of the MCU, which got delayed multiple times due to COVID-19 pandemic.
