Marvel drops final trailer for ‘Avengers: Endgame’; Russo brothers urges fans not to spoil the film for others

Marvel has dropped yet another trailer for Avengers: Endgame, which takes fans on an emotional ride down the memory lane.

The new (and final) trailer opens with Avengers appearing to confront and fight their greatest threat till date, Thanos after he wiped out half the population, including their allies, from the universe. The nearly three minute long clip showcases the past 21 movies in quick flashbacks that have led up to Avengers: Endgame, the final film.

It opens up with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) calling heroes “an old-fashioned notion”, moving on to Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in 2008. Since then, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought in Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), the Guardians of the Galaxy and more. The trailer brings back memories, some more vivid than others.

Breaking the chronological order, the trailer culminates with Avengers: Infinity War that released before and Captain Marvel, in which, Thanos (Josh Brolin) wiped out half the world’s population and a good chunk of the Avengers. The trailer ends with a clip from the upcoming movie where Captain America promises to do “whatever it takes” to “avenge” what has been done.

The countdown has already begun as it’s only nine days from the possible epic finale. With many videos and clips being leaked online, the director duo- the Russo brothers have urged “the greatest fans” not to spoil Endgame for others with a letter that they posted on Instagram through the campaign – #DontSpoilTheEndgame.

Avengers: Endgame hits big screens on 26 April, and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
