With the surge in the number of comic adapted movies flocking the movie screens, yet another comic book is about to set its foot in the film industry, and this time it’s not from the DC or Marvel house. We are talking about Jupiter’s Legacy published by Image Comics. Last year it was announced that the series writer Mark Miller was in the works, and had partnered with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers).
According to ComicBook, the comic is going to be penned by screenwriters Brian and Mark Gunn. The Gunns met with Millar recently and are currently hard at work on the screenplay.
Jupiter’s Legacy is the story of a world filled with superheroes where the next generation decides to overthrow the status quo seizing control of the United States by force in an ill-advised attempt to improve the world around them. The comic series reflects both on the superhero genre and the nature of hope in the face of overwhelming problems, as well as the changing perspective between generations.
Mark Millar’s work Civil War, The Secret Service, Wanted have been adapted into a movie form, out of which Civil War and The Secret Service received a tremendous response. As for Bonaventura, he has produced a variety of major blockbusters before, including comics-related franchises like Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Constantine.
Miller has left no stone unturned to bring in the best for this film as The Gunns have previously worked on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island .
The cast of the is yet to be revealed and we can safely assume that they will be amongst the best ones.
