Makuta VFX recreates late Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan in ‘Nagabharanam’ teaser

Southern India and VFX have an induced relation with each other in terms of curating films and series. The VFX blockbuster Baahubali and other hits like Enthiran, Eega, Magadheera, have shown the potential of Indian VFX industry and the essence of CGI to enhance the final output of filmmaking.

Nagabharanam, the Telugu film starring the late legendary Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan, is based on the strings of visual effects that trigger its appeal to the audience. Created by the VFX team who worked on Baahubali, Makuta VFX has recreated this legendary actor with the help of CGI and visual effects techniques.

The teaser gives a miniscule glimpse of the actor but confirms that the actor has been created after seven years of his death. (30 December, 2009). Makuta VFX has taken the challenge to create the actor and blur the lines of variations to achieve perfection of the actual aura of the actor.

This concept of recreating an actor after he leaving for his heavenly abode has been witnessed in various films like the famous Hollywood blockbuster Furious 7. WETA Digital recreated the actor Paul Walker after his death using various CG and VFX techniques combined with physical references from other substitutes.

The snake in the teaser looks quite artificial and so does the creation of various background elements. Around 576 VFX artists have worked on the film therefore it is too early to judge the film and the kind of VFX work done.

Moreover, the film has been directed by Kodi Ramakrishna who directed Arundhati another VFX bounded Telugu film. Produced by Sohail Ansari and Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Blockbuster Studio, the teaser also displays a decent music created by Guru Kiran under the music label of Sony Music Entertainment India.
