MAAC directors Sandip Saha and Deepak Kedia announced that the institute has opened a new centre at Bhubaneswar, after the success of MAAC Grirsh Park Kolkata.
MAAC business head Ram Warrior said, “A land of opportunities, Bhubaneswar has the potential and has already emerged the scale of enviable heights of achievements in educational sector. Be it IT, technology, law, media, films etc. It has a vast scope of development. The people here are keen to explore the different dimension and aspects of career in a realistic manner.”
The new set up is an Autodesk certified training centre and the courses are certified by International Visual Effects and Animation Council (IVAC). A dedicated research and development team is responsible for planning the detailed curriculum.
Sandip said, “The world is changing rapidly and the field of education is experiencing these changes in particular as it applies to media services. The old days of an educational institution having an isolated audio-visual department are long gone! The growth in use of multimedia within the education sector has accelerated in recent years, and looks set for continued expansion in the future. What we offer are portability, flexibility, individualised learning, collaboration and community building.”
All MAAC teachers are trained by animation industry professionals who help sharpen their creative and technical skills.
Deepak added, “We always try to stay on par with the industry and train our students only in the latest version of any software, since most graphics software companies release a new version every six months. This fits in with our course duration, besides our focus being on 3D and VFX, six months is ample time to train.”
MAAC senior VP Shajan Sameul said that the animation sector is gaining a lot of traction in India, due to the large talent pool available at a reasonable cost. “Currently animation industry contributes 5 per cent to the media and entertainment sector. We see this contribution moving to 7 per cent by 2023. Television industry and digital will further drive media and entertainment growth which augments the need for qualified skilled manpower. The industry needs trained professionals who can contribute to a project from day one. I wish MAAC-Bhubaneswar centre the best and hope they are successful in their endeavor of providing the industry with polished talent.”
