In order to get to know the people who make the AVGC industry work, we at AnimationXpress thought of going beyond the usual. Thus, taking you into the professional lives of creators is our new video series The Creator’s Den where you will get to see people live in action.
The Creator’s Den series takes you into the workspace of some of the leading animation and comics artists in the country, as they open up on how they convert a small kernel of an idea to beautiful imagery that catches our fancies. Our first artist is the creator of Angry Maushi – Abhijeet Kini. In the first part he speaks on how storyboarding is an important aspect in creating fabulous stories.
In this video Abhijeet talks about how drawing and writing for comics has been his passion since childhood and now it is his means to earn his daily bread and butter. The video focus on the story-boarding of his famous series Angry Maushi. It is a character that represents ‘Mumbai in various elements’ as the maushi is very angry with the system whether it’s political or social and all the things that go wrong around us; she takes all the concrete steps for it.
Not only this but Abhijeet has also written and illustrated a Tinkle comic book titled Julius and Bork, along with illustrations for Butterfingers, Defective Detective and Shikari Shambhu.
In the series of videos, he will take us through the process of storyboarding, inking and colouring.
