Lakshya Digital, a gaming process outsourcing company and among the biggest game art creators in India, will acquire 200 professionals at its newly set up studio in Bengaluru as it seeks to create a Centre of Excellence in India’s Silicon Valley, according to ET.
The chief executive officer Manvendra Shukul said, “We have identified two-three areas where we want to build competence globally—like hard surface modeling, vehicle creation, and animation”.
The Bengaluru studio will be the company’s third in line in India after Pune and Gurugram. It will be the sixth globally recognised firm after Seattle, Tokyo, and London. The firm has a place in the leadership team in Bengaluru, and while the unit started operations at the end of March, and workforce is working remotely due to covid-19 as of now.
The company also stated that there were some key changes underway, as publishers were looking to reduce costs, which will result in rising outsourcing. To date, the business has grown by about 30 per cent in 2020 and is expected to grow more in the coming years. The recent plans directly state that Bengaluru will play a vital role in its overall growth. Lastly, it has also set up an academy to ensure it has a steady pipeline of trained talent needed to flourish the business.
