La Cabane and France Télévisions to jointly develop animated series ‘Luce in the Lovely Land’

Amidst the ongoing Annecy International Animated Film Market (Mifa), Paris-based production company La Cabane announced the development of the 2D animated series Luce in the Lovely Land in partnership with France Télévisions. The event celebrating animation in all its glory is being held from 9 to 15 June in the picturesque town of Annecy, France.

Luce in the Lovely Land, a preschool series of 39 episodes of seven minutes, had been warmly received at Cartoon Forum 2023. Based on the multi-award-winning short film Luce and the Rock already pre-bought by France Télévisions, the series is co-produced with Belgian company Thuristar and developed in partnership with broadcaster VRT-Ketnet.

“France Télévisions is a wonderful partner for this strong and unique project, which is very close to our hearts. We can’t wait to bring Britt Raes’ first series to the screen,” said La Cabane co-founder, partner at Thuristar, and producer of the series Perrine Gauthier.

“I am beyond excited to develop the series with such supportive producing and broadcasting partners. Luce observes and explores the world with wonder and soon the world will be able to observe and explore the Lovely Land with Luce,” said creator and director of the series Britt Raes.

The synopsis reads: This series of colourful and quirky tales features Luce, a curious and daring six-year-old who, every morning, opens her little bedroom window to see what’s happening in the Lovely Land. Every day is a new adventure Luce shares with her best friend, a giant Rock! Together, they explore the unexpected, meet surprising creatures and discover other points of view. In a universe brimming with visual and narrative creativity, Luce gives a different outlook on the world.
