In India, ‘Independence’ is just not synonymous to ‘freedom’; it is also associated with the martyrs who sacrificed their lives, The freedom fighters who shed their blood just to save their motherland from the evil clutches of the British, the massacres, the revolutions, protests and alot more of the rigorous activities conducted for the freedom of India.
The victory over Britishers after having served as slaves for nearly 250 years, 15 of August holds a very special and emotional place in the heart of every patriot. Rejoicing the victory even after 69 years of complete independence; hoisting the flag, putting the best foot forward to look traditional, the parades, dancing and merrily singing the patriotic songs; the birthday of free India is celebrated with great piety and pomp. Especially on this Day, the feeling of being a true patriot evokes in the hearts and minds of every Indian, wherever in the world he is.
As it is believed that the youth is the future of the nation, so to enlighten the tiny tots with the significance of this auspicious day, the children’s category of the broadcast space has produced a range of special programmes. Here’s what these channels have to offer the toddlers on Independence Day.
Cartoon Network, the first 24 hours cartoon channel of India which has never failed in delivering exciting content for children; has created an array of shows exclusively for Independence Day. The channel will entertain the children right from 10:00 am starting with the special block ‘Jai Ho’ that comprises of ‘Oggy Independence Day’. This shall be followed by an Independence Day special episode of ‘Roll No. 21: Quest for swarnamani’ and then by another chapter of your favourite cockroach Oggy where you would get to see him with the countrymen in ‘Oggy aur Indiawaale’; finally entertaining more with ‘Arnab aur jadui locket’.
If you miss out on 15 August, no worries, you can make up for your loss on the 16 August, as Cartoon Network shall air the repeat telecast of its special block ‘Jai Ho’ that also comprises of a new episode; Oggy Independence Day. Adding more to the fun-filling quotient, 16 August shall also telecast Roll No 21: Space Mein Dhoom Dhadaka at 2:30 pm, Bhoot Raja aur Ronnie 2 at 4:00 pm. Ending the happy day with more fun-filled laughter, the children will get to see CNP: Kid Krrish: Shakalaka Africa at 7:30 pm.
Whereas the younger sibling Pogo is all set to invite the tiny champs for their favourite, Mighty Raju’s Birthday on Independence Day. The whole of 15 August shall see the entire day full of Mighty Raju’s special episodes. It shall first begin with a brand new episode called Mighty Raju Neuralizer Attack at 11:00 am, followed by the premiere of Mighty ka Mighty Attack movie at 11:30 am. This movie shall get Mighty Raju saving Aryanagar from the evil Gazin who resides in ‘Valtra’, a city below Aryanagar. Don’t forget to watch this section as it shall also feature a special Happy Birthday song just for the mighty hero-Mighty Raju in between.
And Wait! The best of all is yet to come; Pogo is giving one lucky fan a chance to feature with Mighty Raju in an movie on Pogo as well; all that the tiny tots have to do is participate in the Happy Birthday Mighty Raju contest on 15 August 2015 from 11:00 am onwards and answer some simple questions. There are also exciting gadgets lined up for grabs.
The following day shall not only make the kids who missed the shows on 15 August smile, by telecasting the repeats of Mighty Raju shows, but also will make the kids aware about cleanliness as they broadcast everybody’s beloved ‘Chotta Bheem’ keep his Dholakpur clean with ‘Chhota Bheem aur Swach Dholakpur Abhiyaan’ at 12:00 pm.
Down south, Chutti TV and Kochu TV too have their own creative plans to entertain the kids on Independence Day.
Sun TV’s Chutti TV shall be dedicating free India’s 69th Independence Day in honour of the former President of India, Late A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Chutti TV had organised a human chain on 9 August with the theme, -‘transforming India into a developed nation’ was based on the vision of the ‘Missile Man’. A lot of enthusiastic and talented kids actively participated in this event by waving the Indian flags that were originally crafted and painted by them while others stepped into the shoes of the freedom fighters by dressing up replicating them and chanting the slogans of those freedom fighters that are worldwide famous. What added more life to the devoted event was the patriotic songs that were sung by various group of children. Another USP of the happening were the little heroes of the award movie Kaaka muttai and actor Ganesh Venkatraman who turned up as guests for this patriotic event.
It was a moment of pride and respect for several groups of children who joined hands to uphold the spirit and vision of the late President. That’s not it! Apart from this amazing event, Chutti TV also plans to feature a special Jolly talk show scheduled on both the days that will feature Chutti’s most adored cartoon character Boots (Bujji) interact with children on 15August. On the other hand, 16 August shall see ‘Dora’, another favourite character of the kids entertain her fans.
So stayed glued to Chutti TV to see excerpts of the wonderful nationalistic event to be telecast as interstitials on both days and also to have a tete a tete with Boots and Dora.
Kochu TV plans to celebrate the 69th Birthday of Free India by starting the day with a pure classical recital that replicates the true culture of India. It will telecast a pure classical dance-form, ’Bharatnatyam’ performed by the Ujjuwalam natyam at the Guruvayoor temple that will be telecasted from 10.30 am – 11.00 am.
It’s just not this, the dance form of Tamil Nadu will be followed by the launch of two new series ‘Toto Trouble’ from 12:00 – 01:00 pm and ‘Small Giant’ from 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm. The Golden Retriever flick, ‘Air bud’ will be a special movie feature for the day while ‘Jolly talk’ – a call in chat show will be based on theme ‘Freedom talk’ that would be played out from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The opinion poll which will comprise of kids defining their ‘Independence Day moments’ will be telecasted as fillers on 15 and 16 August.
Apart from these channels, the other kids entertainment channels will broadcast their regular shows.
