Kid Cudi teases animated show, ‘Kids See Ghosts’ with Kanye West

Kid Cudi and Kanye West teased an animated series that both are set to star in. The animated CGI teaser, which corresponds to the pair’s 2018 album, Kids See Ghosts, was directed by Takashi Murakami.

The video stars Kanye Bear, voiced by West, who appeared on the cover art of his early albums College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation. Mescudi voices Kid Fox. Both of them are sucked into another dimension in the dream-like video, only to be saved by Kanye Bear’s Yeezy’s sneakers before arriving at the base of a Gothic castle. The track 4th Dimension, featuring Louis Prima from the pair’s 2018 album, plays in the background.

The series is directed by Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami. At present, it is not clear when the series will air. Cudi’s tweet closes with “coming soon.” According to the credits, sound design was handled by William J. Sullivan and Cudi.

Last year, Cudi revealed in a cover story for Complex that “there will definitely be more” Kids See Ghosts albums in the future, adding that “Kanye already told me he wants to start working on the second one. It’s kinda weird, ’cause with the first album, I didn’t know how serious he was about making a collab album with me.”
