Karnataka state government are organising cultural and educational programmes centered on Gandhi on 2 October, marking the 150th birth anniversary of the Mahatma. As a part of this programme, they’ll offer free comics on the ‘Father of the nation’. (as The Economic Times reports)
Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will open the celebrations at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The Information department has brought out books on Gandhi in English and Kannada with illustrations by artist B.G.Gujjarappa, targeting school children. The department is going to provide these books free of cost according to Kannada information and culture director N.R. Vishnukumar.
Apart from the comics, an exhibition showcasing the pictures of the Mahatma’s visit to Karnataka and stamps brought out by other countries on him will also be part of this programme.
