Kaleidescape, a leading manufacturer of premium movie players and servers for the home, has entered into a content licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Studios.
Effective immediately, Kaleidescape Alto owners in North America will now be able to buy a selection of digital library titles and new releases as they become available – including favourites from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney•Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and Touchstone Pictures – from the Kaleidescape Movie Store.
A large collection of animated and live-action hits, as well as popular new releases, will be made available for sale, including Frozen; Finding Nemo, all three Toy Story films, Up, Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University; Marvel’s Iron Man trilogy, Marvel’s The Avengers and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy; plus Pearl Harbor, The Sixth Sense, Pretty Woman and Armageddon. In addition, five of the original Star Wars films recently released on digital are available for purchase via the Kaleidescape Movie Store.
“This is an important milestone for our brand and a great benefit to our dealers and customers,” said Kaleidescape founder & CEO Cheena Srinivasan. “We are thrilled that some of the finest Disney titles are now available for sale to Kaleidescape Alto owners, to enjoy in their home theater or media room in a truly cinematic form.”
The Alto is Kaleidescape’s newest movie player. The product is available now from the company’s 1,400 authorised dealers in North America for $2,495.
This new agreement adds significantly to the total number of movies available for download in the Kaleidescape Movie Store. The total number of titles that Kaleidescape has licensed from major Hollywood studios is now over 10,000. The Kaleidescape Movie Store contains the highest quality movies currently available for Internet delivery. Most movies are available in full 1080p HD, and multichannel lossless audio in Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio.
