K-Tech ABAI CoE announces the set up of a 360 degree full body scanner

With the resuming of live-action production, films, TV series and other live action projects are back in full swing to create content and entertain their audiences. The opening of live-action shoot also paved way to the reopening of VFX companies, colour grading, rigging and everything related to that.

Set in Namma Bengaluru, Karnataka, ABAI Centre of Excellence (COE) took the opportunity and proudly announced the set up of its whole body capture Rig comprising 140 DSLR cameras, capturing the subject in just a fraction of a second. ABAI CoE has a successful combination of technical expertise, a proven technical pipeline, and a creative approach to deliver custom solutions that are both cost effective and at the highest quality. The entire set-up is a funded initiative of K-Tech on behalf of the Government of Karnataka and executed by industry association ABAI.

“Our ability to create hyper realistic human faces and bodies opens up new horizons for customers who want to create characters contributing to stunning visuals in their productions,” mentioned ABAI secretary B. S. Srinivas.

3D scanning is the process of capturing a person or object which when processed  can be used in games, films, television, and advertising as a digital double. ABAI COE will be offering its services primarily to clients in films, gaming, animation and VFX. 

The many cameras will capture the subject in just a fraction of a second at a click of one button, having the ability to create hyper realistic human faces and bodies & opens up new horizons for content creators who want to create characters contributing to stunning visuals in their productions.

This high-end, technologically advanced facility is established and run by the team at ABAI with the support of KITS/KTECH and the Government of Karnataka.

“The K-Tech ABAI Centre of Excellence for AVGC provides state of art facility that will provide the industry in Bengaluru and Karnataka a holistic technological boost in all aspects of the AVGC sector. It’s the place for the new generation content makers in live action, animation, VFX and games. In today’s technology that’s always pushing boundaries and going the AR/ VR way, this facility will transform the areas of gaming, animation and live action, and will provide the best practices, research support and training for new age services and careers in the media and entertainment industry,” said Srinivas.

The  Centre of Excellence provides state of the art facilities that will give the AVGC industry in Bengaluru and Karnataka a holistic technological boost. The CoE also has a finishing school to train and provide highly skilled technicians to the companies in Karnataka, thus facilitating employment opportunities.
