Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind The Avengers, has teamed up with John Cassaday, the artist behind the Astonishing X-Men, for a special 75th anniversary issue of Captain America: Sam Wilson. The duo will narrate new tales celebrating the legacy and legend of Captain America in this issue #7.
The issue will also include stories by Nick Spencer, Daniel Acuna, Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins. However, the plot of the stories is still not revealed.
The two creative minds have worked together in the past too as they first hit the scene together in 2004 with Astonishing X-Men. The first run of the series was written by Whedon and the art was created by Cassaday at that time. Therefore, both are familiar with each other and have produced phenomenal creative work for Marvel Comics.
Moreover, Joss Whedon is the writer and director of The Avengers (2012) and its sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) thus; he has a close association with the character Captain America. Cassaday too is no stranger to Captain America as he as previously drawn an issue of Fallen Son: The Death Of Captain America and a Captain America limited series with John Ney Riber.
So with both experienced minds penning and formulating their creativity for a renowned character that has created a vital place among million fans, this special issue can be expected to be a distinct work in the Marvel Comics series. Captain America: Sam Wilson #7 goes on sale from 30 March 2016.
