Kids’ entertainment specialist CAKE and digital content producer and distributor, Diagonal View have announced the launch of a joint venture to produce and distribute kids content for the digital space.
The new company, called Popcorn Digital, will produce kids’ content specifically for exploitation across global online media platforms, such as YouTube, with the intention that certain IP’s created for digital AVOD platforms internationally, will crossover into the linear space.
CAKE, CCO and MD, Ed Galton said, “CAKE has been searching for the best digital approach and partnering with Diagonal View and Paul is by far the most complete solution.”
As part of the deal, CAKE, who have produced and distributed award-winning hits including Angelo Rules, Bottersnikes & Gumbles and Oscar’s Oasis, will provide development experience and expertise in the kids’ arena, while Diagonal View, whose market-leading knowledge in digital distribution, will handle channel management, maximising traffic and growing revenue and audiences.

Best-known for global phenomenon Talking Tom, digital expert Paul Nunn joins as the advisor / investor bringing his experience of growing a brand from digital roots into a successful global media franchise.
