In the recent past, there have been a lot of speculations and even a poster leak for the upcoming sequel to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s Injustice: Gods Among Us, developed by NetherRealm studios. It was being said that the game would be unveiled at E3, given an indirect confirmation from the studio’s creative director Ed Boon, about the authenticity of the allegedly leaked poster.
But it seems like we don’t have to wait till E3, the first trailer of the game as officially been released and by the looks of it, it will pick up on the story where the previous version had ended. Batman leads a rebellion against the ‘rule’ of Superman with a team of heroes. The trailer features, the Flash, Batman, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman locked up in a battle for dominance.
What’s better than fighting as your favourite super hero against his/her fraternity? How about all new and upgraded versions of them? YES! The new version allows players to upgrade and customise each character in accordance to their will. Be it the appearance or the fighting style, everything can be customised in a plethora of new fighting modes that will be introduced.
NetherRealm, creative director, Ed Boon said, “In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games.” However, no further information about the ‘new features’ have been revealed.
Players would be able to play from the biggest DC roster ever offered in a fighting game, from classic fan favourites like Batman, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman to superb new villains like Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Battles will take place throughout arenas that have evolved across iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.
Adding on to that, players who have downloaded the hugely successful Injustice: Gods Among Us mobile game can unlock the Injustice 2 versions of Superman and Aquaman through the in-game challenge modes.
The game is slated to release sometime in 2017 over PS4 and Xbox One.
